Pre-operative Consultation 

For out of town patients, the initial consultation could be arranged in two different ways. If you are able to visit Dr. Yavrouian’s office personally for the pre-surgery consultation, it is the ideal choice. However, this may not be feasible if you are busy or traveling from a distant place. In this scenario, you can have a phone and email consultation with the surgeon.  

During an in-person consultation, you will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Yavrouian and go over your requested plastic surgery procedure in detail with him. The patient coordinator at his office will explain you the pre- and post-surgery requirements and help finalize your travel plans for the surgery.  

For a remote consultation, you will be required to submit your patient forms, medical history and photographs of your areas of concern to Dr. Yavrouian via email. You can expect to have an equally successful and productive consultation as an out of town patient over the phone and email.  

Scheduling Your Surgery 

Following your consultation with Dr. Yavrouian, you can take your time to make up your mind about going ahead with the surgery as recommended. Once you are ready for the surgery, your patient coordinator will help you pick up a suitable date for the procedure.  

At this point, you will receive the detailed pre- and post-operative guidelines and information from Dr. Yavrouian’s office. The surgeon may require your blood work and some other tests prior to the scheduled surgery. If any of your ongoing prescription medications have to be adjusted, it will be done in consultation with your prescribing physician.  

Travel Plans 

The patient coordinator at the surgeon’s office will help you and guide you regarding your travel plans for your surgery. You should make your transport and hotel reservations in accordance with the estimated downtime that the surgeon would advise you during your consultation. 

If possible, you should have someone who can accompany you on the day of surgery, and drive you back to your hotel after the procedure is complete. You might require assistance during the first 24 hours or more following your surgery, so make appropriate arrangements ahead of your visit.
